Crios de Susana Balbo 2007, Torrontes, Cafayate, at Majestic Wine
Produced by husband and wife team, Pedro Marchevsky and Susana Balbo, Argentina's most highly acclaimed female winemaker and the first Argentinean oenologist to be consulted by a European winery, this wine demonstrates the highest quality of Argentina's classic white grape variety, Torrontes. Viognier-like aromas of ripe, juicy peaches and blossom develop on the palate, which is surprisingly full-bodied and crisp for a wine with such delicate aromas. Fruity, floral and yet still quite dry, this wine makes a wonderful aperitif but can also be enjoyed with seafood, smoked meats and medium to strong-flavoured cheeses.
