Winemaker Vincent Bouzereau's family have been making excellent white burgundies for many generations and he has inherited both skills and traditions from them. A classic Meursault, showing rich, butter and hazelnut aromas, which merge seamlessly on the palate. Well balanced, fat and complex. An ideal accompaniment to roast poultry.

Zondernaam Sauvignon Blanc 2006, Stellenbosch, at MajesticWine
The grapes for this wine were sourced from a prime location adjacent to the celebrated Thelema Mountain Vineyards. Whilst the quality of this zesty Sauvignon is comparable to this famous winery, the status is not, and it is therefore aptly named 'Zondernaam' meaning 'no name'. Fortunately, the prices aren't comparable either, so take advantage.

Waiki Barrel Selection Cabernet 2005, Maipo Valley, at Majestic Wine Warehouses
Situated among the foothills of the Andes, the grapes were hand picked from what was an excellent vintage. Deep burgundy red with aromas of ripe red berries and spices highlighted by touches of dried fruit and vanilla. Beautifully structured with mature tannins and a smooth finish. The perfect accompaniment to full flavoured, rich meat dishes.

Produced from the low-yielding Racahue and Totihue vineyards in the Cachapoal Valley, this wine is treated to 15 months in 42% new French oak to give added complexity. The result is a wine of great character, with cassis tobacco and mineral complexity held together by sweet, ripe tannins. Drink with rich, red meat dishes.

A picturesque winery located at Buxy in the Côte Chalonnaise where it has belonged to the 'Perret du Cray' family for centuries. Having been oak matured, the light blackcurrant fruits emerging on the palate are well rounded and balanced by subtle tannins. Drinking now and is the perfect accompaniment to lamb dishes.

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2000, Fassati, at Majestic Wine Warehouses
A hint of violets on the nose followed by rich plummy fruits with soft tannins and gentle oak on the palate.

Riff Pinot Grigio delle Venezie 2003, Alois Lageder, at Majestic Wine
Pale yellow in colour with a nose of apples, citrus, smoke and spice. Its crisp light acidity is partnered with fruit-forward flavours of lime, apples, melons and spice.

Beaune 1er Cru Les Toussaints 2003, Albert Morot, at Majestic Wine
An excellent example of 1er Cru Beaune made with hand selected grapes from fourty year old vines. The wine is aged in both new and old wood for 16 months and then bottled without filtration. The nose shows expressive notes of cherry, raspberry, leather and liquorice, with good density on the palate. The finish is persistent with a hint of minerality. Excellent when drunk with regional French cheeses.

Sedara 2005, Donnafugata, at Majestic Wine
The label refers to the cellars at Contessa Entellina and the land in which this native vine's roots are deeply planted. Made from 100% Nero d'Avola grapes, the ruby-red colour is rounded out by lively garnet reflections. The nose is intense with warming aromas of tobacco and spices. The fruit driven palate displays blackberries and cherries, with a well-rounded, persistent finish. Partner with lightly cooked fresh tuna.

Fermentation and maturation in stainless steel tanks has preserved the delicacy of this 1er Cru. A light golden colour, the nose displays a variety of aromas, from hazelnuts to violets, whilst the palate reveals well-balanced, fresh fruits. Perfect with all kinds of fish, white meats and goat's cheese. Will cellar well for 3-5 years.
